Four senior vassals of Tokugawa

Tokugawa Shi-tennou (the Four senior vassals of Tokugawa) Jokugawa Shi-tennou indicates four senior sassals of Tokugawa Ieyasu lineage, namely, Honda Tadakatsu, Sakai Tadatsugu. Sakakibara Yasumasa and Ii Naomasa (order from the left). However, there was a generation gap between Sakai Tadatsugu and the other three, thus they had not lived their lives in the same era, The army corps configuration by Ieyasu on the Mikassa period is called “Sambi”, which consisted of three sections, Sakai Tadatsugu from Higasi-inikawa, Ishikawa Kazumasa from Nishisakai and initiative direct vassal of Ieyasu. Accordingly Sakai Tadatsugu and Tshikawa Kaiumasa are given extraordinary position upon Tokugawa’s Mikawa period.
